Platinum Stars vs Polokwane City PSL

Posted: 31 August 2013 Time: 14:46

Polokwane City made it three defeats from three games after a 2-1 loss to Platinum Stars at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Siphlele Mthembu had given Dikwena the lead on the stroke of halftime, before Robert Ng'ambi added a second on the hour-mark. Issa Sarr scored a late own-goal, but it proved nothing more than a consolation.

Stars dominated from the start, with their click football creating numerous opportunities.

Veteran City goalkeeper Modiri Marumo was kept busy as shots rained down on his goal, but he withstood all until a minute before halftime.

In the end it was a scrappy goal for the visitors to concede: a high ball into the box was headed on and Mthembu found himself in space in the box. He rifled the ball home from 12-yards off the post.

After Ng’ambi had hit the post early in the second half, he did get Stars’ second goal, latching onto a long ball and beating Marumo in a one-on-one contest.

There might have been more goals for the home side after that, but it was City who scored; debutant Sarr unlucky as he turned the ball into his own net in the dying minutes.

This is what you get when you get promotion via sympathy (Play more games than others)

It gets even worse if you from same province as the forever "loling" to his own jokes Nespray

PSL- is an ametaur league and we've been unfortunate to call it our domestic league.

The problem here is the management, we voiced our concerns at the supotas gatherings but they never listened.

dont be fooled by this no-names...most of the playas of PLK CITy are not the one's that helped this team to promotion. PLK City dumped Mashishi, a player in the mould of Jali who played all games last season.

why arent they using the experience of Mmotong and Kanyenda to guide the youngsters remains a misery

the only notable player from last season team is Mothusi Gopane...

PLK CITY needs to close the gabs left by the likes of Mashishi with quality playas...not this nonsence they bought from Botswana

I will suspend my membership if they keep playing this nonsence and losing games like K. Chiefs

Shaka Zulu seems to be doing better and better. My prayer is that you stay injury free. You deserve that after your career was rocked by injury so early. However that is the sign of the player that takes punches and tackles from strong defenders. Continue to do well, who know what future holds.
