SuperSport United drew 0-0 in a CAF Confederation Cup second round, first-leg match against Egyptian side Enppi in Cairo on Friday night.

United will face the Egyptians in the return leg on May 4 in South Africa, and will be confident of getting the win on home soil that puts them through to the next round.

Enppi had the better of the match and controlled proceedings. They had several opportunities to score but were denied by some good goalkeeping by Ronwen Williams.

They were also awarded a penalty late in the game, but Williams pulled off an excellent save to keep the scores level

United XI: Williams, Nkausu, Diouf, Fransman, Kekana, Patricio (Nxumalo ’70), Gyimah, Doutie, Cale, Nyondo (Mdluli ’57), Nkoana (Erasmus ’38)

i suspect the south african media intentionally sabotaged the african derby.no coverage on thursday night with marawa,no news of derby on supersport and only a 1 minute analysis on soccerzone towards the end.this is sickening if u compare the coverage even given to the platinum stars chippa match.aphatheid tendencies r at work here.these boer controlled media dont want to see our futbol grow hence they systematically sabotage it by only promoting useless local futbol.they dont do the same for rugby.why dont they cover superrugby then.nxa...

While he admits to feeling the pressure brought about by failure to win, the former Wits coach refuses to let outside forces get to him.

“I only listen to football people,” he says. “People that matter, because here at home our football intelligence is very different (read non-existent, particularly the fans). Yes the fans have their right to complain when we don’t do well … But I’ll only get worried if the chairman or my players are not happy with the work I am doing. They are the people who know the game and are aware of the efforts I am putting in to make the team a success. They are football people.”

What can we say mfanakithi... the media have the own agenda... so this shamefully Afro-pessimism shall continue...

Having said that, the champion-Solitairer Nkosana Khoza, has to be put to task & held responsible... he's been sucking on daddy's breast milk for far too long now... He must be held accountable..!

De Sa says the biggest problem is that South Africa is a generally negative country where people tend to focus on the bad things.

“People are just not crediting Kaizer Chiefs for the wonderful work they’ve done this season. They signed some very good players and brought in a good coach. What people also don’t realise is that Pirates were actually in a similar position to what we are in last season. They won the league with 58 points and my target when I took over was 60, but Chiefs have done so well that those might not be enough to win the championship despite it being an improvement on last season.

They tell us everyday to support SA teams yet they are biased in their reporting, did SSU play today, Kickoff,we get it SSU dont have a million supporters, but we all know u not gonna report Bucs' match to us tomorrow

Yesterday in the match preview u told us u gonna give us the line ups before the match and updates during the match, none of this was done yet we have to support these SA represantatives,no wonder only 3500 tickets have been sold for Pirates' match,no media coverage what-so-ever

Williams, good one boy,u deserve a BB call up not a practice session, hope u guys win the second round and i'll be @ the stadium rooting for u guys
