Nathan Paulse scored in the last minute of the game to hand Ajax Cape Town a 1-1 draw with Platinum Stars in an Absa Premier League fixture at Mmabatho Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Former Urban Warriors defender George Mofokeng handed Platinum Stars a first half lead a minute after the hosts were reduced to 10 men after Michael Khaile received his marching orders.
The visitors started the match well and despite dominating the better part of the first half, they failed to capitalise on their advantage.
Platinum Stars were reduced to 10 men when Khaile was sent off for remonstrating with the referee after he conceded a free-kick.
However, the hosts took the lead on the stroke of half-time when Mofokeng drilled the ball home with a shot from just outside the area.
The score remained 1-0 at the break.
The Urban Warriors showed more urgency in the second half, but Stars’ defence held firm, dealing with any threat the league leaders posed.
However, striker Paulse pulled Ajax level with virtually the last kick of the game when he slotted home from the edge of the area, to hand the visitors a deserved share of the spoils.
