Maritzburg United fight back to beat Orlando Pirates

Posted: 18 May 2013 Time: 17:14

A late Cuthbert Malajila strike gave Maritzburg United a dramatic 3-2 win away at Orlando Pirates on the final day of the 2012/13 season.

It took only 14 minutes for the first bit of drama in this match as Bucs midfielder Thandani Ntshumayelo, called up to the Bafana Bafana squad yesterday, had to go off injured. He was replaced by Manti Moholo.

Despite the match starting rather slowly, it kicked into gear in the 18th minute when Tlou Segolela headed home a Happy Jele cross.

Bucs came close again when Khetho Masuku fired in a shot straight at Shuaib Walters, before Orlando Smeekes and Delron Buckley forced Senzo Meyiwa into saves.

Ndumiso Mabena wasted a good chance early in the second half when he shot to close to Walters, while Jele also missed a great chance to increase the lead.

And it proved costly when Heinrich Isaacks pounced on 58th minutes to fire in an equaliser for Maritzburg.

However, just two minutes later Bucs were back in front when Segolela found Masuku, who placed his shot past the goalie.

But then the drama…

Ryan de Jongh equalised for the visitors with four minutes, before Zimbabwean striker Malajila delivered the killer blow as he found the net in referee’s optional time.

The result sees Pirates finish a disappointing League campaign third, while Maritzburg end in 11th place.

RDS does not have a winning mentality. Hence the results. Celtics did the same to win. Poor coach. Players lack mental strength because their coach lacks it. Poor indeed. Let him just fucoff. We don't need such wimps in the champion's home!

UP THE BUCS. Down with RDS

He is going to rely on luck to win CAF trophy. Not out of play but by misfortune of others. We wont beat Esperance, Al Ahly with RDS. Never. And never shall we go anywhere with people of weak erections and weak mentality. Winners always have a far superior mentality than anything else. Our players are just used condoms! Mxm.

UP THE BUCS!

So key players are back and got national call ups meaning they are playing well. We lost to a team that we led twice! Always said this injuries story is a bunch of garbage.

Fellow Bucs, I'm of the opinion that the Iron Duke erred in bringing Roger to OP. I dont blame Roger (why should I?), the guy did not appoint himself. The blame rests soley on the Chairman's shoulders. He needs to acquire a well experienced and competent coach for us next season. This has been a roller coaster ride for all the Bucs supporters, and we really do not deserve this.
