Chippa United beat Orlando Pirates in PSL

Chippa United are off the foot of the League table after a shock 1-0 win against Orlando Pirates at Orlando Stadium on Tuesday night.
Brent Carelse was the match-winner for the Chilli Boys, netting an 86th minute winner and picking up three points that could ensure the Chilli Boys spend another season in the top-flight.
It was a slow start to the game as neither side threatened the opposition goal. In fact, Chippa arguably had the better opportunities, but nothing to trouble Senzo Meyiwa too much.
On 25 minutes the Buccaneers had the first proper chance when Chippa keeper Tashrique Goldman could only punch Daine Klate’s cross into Sifiso Myeni’s path, but the winger volleyed over.
Tshepo Tomonyane hit a free-kick over the bar just before the break as the two sides went into half-time on level terms.
Pirates raced out of the blocks after the break and Khetowakhe Masuku should have done better when running onto a cross, but is first-time shot went wide.
Masuku fired another effort over the bar before Collins Mbesuma forced Goldman into a smart save.
Benni McCarthy made a welcome return to the side off the bench and immediately upped the attacking intent, but instead it was Chippa who found the back of the net on 86 minutes – Carelse glancing a header from Mkhanyiseli Siwahla’s cross past Meyiwa.
Bucs night got worse as Myeni was shown a second yellow, just about ending their title chances and casting serious doubts over coach Roger de Sa’s future.
