Dikwena are now just a point behind leaders Kaizer Chiefs at the halfway mark of the Premiership season as a second-half penalty from Henrico Botes earned them the win.
The result also gives coach Cavin Johnson’s side R1.5-million in prize-money having been the leading side in the second quarter of the League season.
It was not a match that will by any means be considered a classic, chances were few and far between, but Stars perhaps deserved their victory for the way they held the home side and inflicted just a second defeat of the league season on them.
Phala forced an excellent stop from Ronwen Williams from a free-kick, the best of the opportunities for Dikwena.
While at the other end Kermit Erasmus produced some magic in the right wing to tee-up George Maluleka, but the midfielder put his effort wide of goal.
Stars took the lead 10 minutes into the second half after September was adjudged to have handled the ball in the area. Botes made no mistake from the spot to score his sixth of the season in just his 11th start.
Mabhuti Khenyeza should have done better when he was well-placed for a shot, but put his effort into the side-netting.
That was all the home side could muster, Sameehg Doutie also seeing his header saved by Siyabonga Mpontshane in the home goal, and Stars could celebrate another famous win in what has been a magical three months or so for them.
The final matches of 2012 for these two sides will see SuperSport host Ajax Cape Town on Wednesday, while Platinum Stars are at Moroka Swallows on the same evening.

unlike the pass Q1 where Benard Parker became the player of Q1 for only scoring 4 goals against Amazulu then 2 against Black Leopards then goals dried up for next 6 games claiming he is on top form even our National coach Gordon says that, but however if I asked myself when did B Parker last scored the goal>>I can't remember.Congratulation to Dikwena's for wining Q2
