Moroka Swallows lost to SuperSport United

Posted: 7 December 2012 Time: 22:21

PSL draw kings SuperSport United got sweet revenge for their MTN8 Final loss to Moroka Swallows when they defeated the Dube Birds 3-1 at Dobsonville Stadium on Friday night.

Ashley Hartog, Nathan Paulse and George Maluleka scored for the visitors, with Katlego Mashego’s penalty the sole bright spark on a dark night for Swallows.

Supersport had an early opportunity when Kermit Erasmus pulled the ball back in the box, but Nathan Paulse could not find the back of the net with his pin-point header which was parried for a corner by Aubrey Mathibe.

But United did not have to wait long as three minutes later they bridged the Swallows backline. It was a route-one ball from United keeper Ronwen Williams which Ashraf Hendricks missed, allowing Sahmeeg Doutie to pull the ball back to Hartog to tap into an empty net.

Mashego had a chance to level soon after, but Williams parried his shot over the bar.

In the 26th Luvhengo Mungomeni sent in a stinging shot which Williams saved but spilt into the path of Bennett Chenene, but the young keeper got his body to the near post to deny the Swallows winger.

Five minutes after the break Matsatsantsa made it 2-0 through Paulse’s first League goal of the season. Lucas Thwala sent a long ball into the box for Paulse who brilliantly controlled with his right foot and slotted home.

United then gave Swallows the opportunity to half the deficit when Thabo September handled the ball in the box, allowing Mashego to net from the spot.

But straight from kick-off United restored their advantage when Maluleka outran the shaky Swallows defence and slotted home to make it 3-1.

This is very sad for Swallows now, this coach must be relived with immediate effect. It looks like he has run out of ideas.

This Zeca has demotivated our star players who were outstanding last season n trying to build His own swallows out of players who were bench warmers last seasn n new players coz he has got his own philosophy as he says, I am stl strugling to understand wat changed DVD's usual game n wat makes Dukuduku a regular bench warmer under dis Majazana. Who is more creative n effective betwn Makhanya n Obada? A persn who knows n understands football wl say its Makhanya bt dis Majazana always plays dat ineffective Obada n bench Makhanya. How many gmes did Obada play n how many goals has he created? These players dont even pass da ball to teammates who r in a better space bt I often see chabangu, Tsutsulupa n Mahoota not passing the ball to DVD even when He is in a better space to receive n use da ball effectively, they rather make useless long passses. The gud passing combination we saw last season btwn chenene, nomvethe, DVD, Makhanya n Chabangu is now gone. Zeca must just be fired coz he is nowhere close to a coach who knws football........ Swallows should just give Him another role if they love him dat much... Up the Birds, down Marques

Mr Prins we have been emosionally abused by this man, he will never resign you know that, relieve him on his duties because the more he stays the deeper we go and Who will survive us because Gordon is gone?

Mr Prins you put us in this #### intensionally because from the start you knew that Mr Igusand is a wanted man but you never bother yourself to look for new coach expecting this majasana to peform miracles, What this man is doing is not for the first time , He did it before, We understand that this man might be your brother in law but not to our team Mr.

Problem is that SA teams tend to celebrate their wins for long time and forget that life doesn't start and end there.... The birds are still celebrating their MTN victory.
Luckly we have a coach who understands that... that's why Khosi hammered Ajax ahead of the derby and still going to hammer somebody today, next week and after the AFCON ...

This stupid Maques is blaming players for making mistakes, it is your duty to encourage them to make few mistakes, but you lack of motivational skills make it difficult to do your job, Mr Maques the body language of the players shows axactly that they don't want to work for you because you don't have leadership qualities, Blaming players in the media is a flob, Being suprised when supporters blame for loss is a flob, Poor managerial skills
