Maritzburg outclass Swallows

Maritzburg United beat Moroka Swallows

Posted: 24 November 2012 Time: 10:11 pm

Maritzburg United moved up to third place in the League standings following a 3-1 win against Moroka Swallows on Saturday evening.

The home side were reduced to 10 men just past the half-hour mark when Gilbert Mapemba was sent-off for a crude lunge, and Maritzburg made them pay as goals from Cuthbert Malajila, Terrence Mandaza and Frank Sarfo-Gyamfi sealed their win.

Felix Obada scored a consolation against his former side, but it is now no wins in six for The Birds, whose seasons is unravelling as they slip to 10th in the Absa Premiership.

Maritzburg were ahead on 18 minutes when a long ball from defender Mohamed Awal was not dealt with by the defence and Malajila stole in to deflect the ball home.

The Birds hit back through Obada, who was set up by a fine run down the left from Lefa Tsutsulupa, whose low cross provided a simple tap-in chance.

Mapemba was then sent-off as he went in with both feet on Reuben Cloete and from that moment on the home side had their backs to the wall.

It did take until the final five minutes for Maritzburg to seal their win though, with Mandaza putting them ahead as he converted Cloete’s free-kick at the back post.

And Sarfo-Gyamfi ensured the points were headed back to KwaZulu-Natal when he collected a pass from Ryan de Jongh and coolly slotted past Greg Etafia.

I think these coach is not ready to lead this team, Mr Prins help us here, demote the man and hire head coach who will motivate players when chips are down because now the man cannot do that, yes we won Top 8 but we cannot afford to be hamiliated like this when we all know where the problem is. The coach found a winning team, that's what helped to win that trophy

Mr Macques, we know you love this team, accept that the job is too heavey for you and resign while you still can and save to do so. 6games without a win is too much to digest, what ever problem we might be having you created it

Mr Prins use these break to look for a coach because we understood why you hired Mr Macques, it was because you did not have time to look for one, the man is failing you, us and the players, please man we can't take it anymore and I believe he does not give you a good report

Since Nomvete got injured there is no longer much inspiration in this Swallows team.
And whilst their coach is clueless(been riding on Gordon's set-up), they have what I believe is the worst Goalkeeper in the whole PSL. This Etafia is just a man at goal-posts, NOT a football goalkeeper.
If Swallows don't get a better substitute for this sham of ''a man at the goal-posts'', they will concede 60+ goals this season.
By the way, I'm the affialiate of the most Glamorous team in PSL.
Gold and Black... Kaizer Chiefs

The main problem here is the coach(Zeca), He has demotivated our good playmaker DVD, the man who made Nomvethe shine last season, keepng DVD away frm da game claiming He is injured ws a plan for this useless coach to get rid of DVD, why did He not bring DVD back in da startng XI n in his usual position after He ws fit to play, did He hve to prove himself again? Is Nomvethe also going to sit on da bench after afta He has recovered, DVD is da best playmaker dat we hve bt bcos of jealousy n trying to introduce his own stupid philosophy, dis stupid coach cant see dat there is no substitute fr DVD in dat playmaker role. Can't Zeca learn frm other coaches dat key players cnt be bench warmers afta coming bek frm injury.... Nxa ... I have dis Zeca sh!t wit all my heart. Gud coaches don't depend on luck, they keep players motivated n dont discriminate against certain players. We had da same week defence last season bt it never stopped us frm winning games because da best players were playing not favoured players.... It is clear dat all what dis coach needs is an axe. Dnt 4lo me 4lo da Birds.

As long as Zeca keeps playing Nergardze as a CDM he won't win anything.
Nergardze is the hard-man in the midfield, assisted by DVD.

Hendricks and Rudi Isaacs can be your CD pair you're looking for.
Mungomeni needs to play as a right back.
Keep looking for a left back because between Shere and Mjempu, there is no answer to your predicament.
Leave Tsutsulupa on the bench,he can play for 20 or 30 minutes max.
Start with Makhanya and Mabalane on the flanks, using Obada as an impact player.
Leave Chabangu to play behind the striker(Mashego)
Chabangu doesn't have the legs to be tracking back to assist in defense, yet he can always supply your attackers with defense splitting passes.

When you take off Chabangu after 60/70 minutes, put in that Khumalo boy to stabilise your midfield and let DVD play behind the strikers.

There is the solution coach to your problems, use it don't use it that's entirely up to you.

Correction,as a Central Defender.
Nergadze is a CDM not a Central Defender
