In the most boring game so far this season, Asatuye Nyondo wasted a golden chance in the 18th minute when Mabhuti Khenyeza flicked on a pass but, with only the keeper to beat, he sent the ball well over the bar from six yards out.
Nyasha Mushekwi had a better chance for Sundowns in the 29th minute when he beat the offside trap and was one-on-one with Ronwen Williams, but his first touch let him down, allowing the keeper to gather.
A minute later the Zimbabwean striker nearly made up for the error, but his header from a corner rattled against the crossbar.
The Brazilians had another chance to take the lead when in the 41st minute Esrom Nyandoro released a rocket from 20 yards out, but Williams held on.
SuperSport came closest after the break, with Wayne Sandilands needing to be at his best to keep out Bevan Fransman’s flicked header.
The home side should have had the winner in the 84th minute when substitute Eleazar Rodgers had only Williams to beat, but the striker’s attempted lob was comfortably saved.
Two minutes later Edward Manqele again failed to net when Tebogo Langermann sent in a pin-point cross; Williams again saving well to ensure a share of the spoils.
