Moroka Swallows beat Ajax Cape Town at Dobsonville

Posted: 22 August 2012 Time: 21:31

Three late goals handed Moroka Swallows a 3-1 League win against Ajax Cape Town at Dobsonvile Stadium on Wednesday night.

It was a positive start for both teams, with Terror Fanteni taking the first pot-shot at goal on 16 minutes, but Greg Etafia was equal to the task.

After that there was little in the way of goalmouth action, and the two sides went into the break deadlocked.

Bradley Grobler was introduced in place of Fanteni after an hour, while Keagan Dolly came on for Khama Billiat as Maarten Stekelenburg opted for a change in formation.

The change proved a master-stroke as the Urban Warriors broke the deadlock when Lebogang Manyama swung the ball into the top right corner of the net.

But Ajax’s lead was short lived, and the Dube Birds capitalised on a set-piece and Katlego Mashego made no mistake.

That equaliser boosted Swallows and they managed to pull another one out of the hat when Nomvete headed home a cross by Joseph Makhanya two minutes from full-time.

'Bhele' got a second five minutes later, ensuring the three points for the home side.

Etafia, Hendricks, Nergadze, Mungomeni, Mathebula, Tsutsulupa, Makhanya, Chenene, Cabangu, Nomvethe and Mashego...... These are my Heroes at the Nest and the rest still need to prove themselves in terms of matching the standard set by my beloved players mentioned above........ Zeca u r slowly but surely becoming a decent coach coz u hve now realised that Makhanya does not belong to the bench for the whole duration of the game. Thanks for learning another important fact that Nomvethe must not be substituted unless He sustains a serious injury that forces Him not to continue with the game....... Sundowns you are next.................Lets see if the yellow machine will be able to roll forward come Sunday.

Eish I wish Shere Lekgothoane can get a Red card soon so that Swallows can consider geting a decent Left back since having Lekgothoane on the field is no difference to us having 10 men on the field. Don't follow me follow the Birds.

Check here Mr coach, see how I address you now, you deserve that accolade! Its very urgent get a left back soon, stop playing Sibaya, another expirienced centre back and a left winger. Summer is here Hendriks gets injured when playing on the wet pitch/ he also get cramps very easily especially when we playing Pirates, its fact you know that, please think ahead, coach. If want to be a 'special one', you need to think out of the box. Last season we lost to Chiefs, Sundowns, Golden Arrows with a big margin, and history has repeated itself on pre-season Chiefs beat us 3-0, becaful coach. My coach!!!!!!
