Free State Stars returned to winning ways in the Premiership on Saturday with a 1-0 victory over Platinum Stars in Rustenburg.
The only goal of the game came late in the first half, as Togolese international Dove Wome scored from a quick counter-attack to stun the home fans.
The result is a blow for the home side's top eight aspirations, but they did have their chances.
Dikwena had an effort from Patrick Malokase rightfully called offside after 15 minutes, the Orlando Pirates loanee having been behind the last defender from Henrico Botes' initial shot that hit the post and rebounded back to him.
Edward Manqele then had two excellent chances, first missing a one-on-one with Jackson Mabokgwane, which the goalkeeper saved, and then failing to steer his effort on target after being picked out at the back post.
The visitors were ahead on 38 minutes, when Katlego Mashego went on a rampaging run down the left, before picking out an unmarked Wome. The midfielder finished expertly past a helpless Mabokgwane.
It might have been 2-0 in the second half when Manqele played in Mzikayise Mashaba; his shot crashed into the post from a tight angle with Mabokgwane static.
Robert Ng'ambi had a great chance to equalise for the home side when he was picked out in the box, but he put his free header well wide with Mweene stranded.
The final chance of the game fell to Ntsikelelo Nyauza, whose thunderbolt from 30 yards looked to be heading into the top-corner before Mweene stuck out a hand to make an excellent save.
Platinum Stars will now travel to AmaZulu for their next fixture on April 28, while the Free Staters host Maritzburg United on the same day.
