Leopards steal win over SuperSport

Posted: 13 March 2012 Time: 18:14

Black Leopards stunned SuperSport United after snatching a late 1-0 Premiership victory at Giyani Stadium on Tuesday afternoon.

Mongezi Bobe was the hero of the day for Lidoda Duvha after striking in the 88th minute to seal three valuable points for the relegation-threatened side.

The first half was bereft of goalscoring opportunities as both sides struggled to make the goalkeepers work, and Gavin Hunt rang the changes in the second half by bringing on Bryce Moon and Thabo September.

Mame Niang missed Matsatsantsa’s best chance when he couldn’t direct a close-range header on target from Franklyn Cale’s inswinging corner, and it was left until two minutes from time for Leopards’ hero to emerge.

The result moves Leopards above Cosmos at the bottom of the table, while SuperSport’s slump continues after making it seven League games without a win.

Why is it that when our own teams scored in the last minutes of play they mostly they refered as steal, lucky and snashed but when teams abroad in the last minutes they say it is a refered as they fought hard to the last minutes. The media in this country has taken us for a ride really.Teams like Pirates they play to the last minutes but they will refered as uninspiring while they fought to the last minutes. Is so sad.

Bucs must win with a very big margin tomorrow.Santos is the worse team in psl. They never play the ball on the ground, which is advantage to their opponents. When a Santos player gets the ball, immidiately he thinks of lifting it up the air aimelessly.I dont know how this team survive religation. So im going to watch this game with interest.I expect anything not less than 3 goal cusion.

Leopards is on the up thanks to CAF participation and SSU is on the downward spiral, fast. Thanks to Wits the gap is reasonable.
I wish though that Santos, who are incidentally on teh up as well, can hold Pirates to a draw. They better take advantage of the instability of Pirates. Then when we wallop Pirates on Saturday everything will be even in terms of chances of winning the league. I still have Sundowns as favourites though to win the league this year.
