Mamelodi Sundowns beat Free State Stars 2-0 away

Posted: 21 December 2011 Time: 21:34

Mamelodi Sundowns are top of the table going into the mid-season break, after a 2-0 win over Free State Stars.

Surprise Moriri and Lebohang Mokoena got a goal in either half at Charles Mopeli Stadium, handing Ea Lla Koto their first home defeat in the Premiership this season.

The Brazilians take a three-point lead at the top of the log, where they will stay for two months.

In the eighth minute Sundowns took the lead when Moriri slammed in a close-range shot, after a free-kick from the in-form Teko Modise fell to him inside the 18-yard area.

Modise had a powerful shot on target soon after, but Kennedy Mweene was up to the task and tipped it around the post.

Stars then had a couple of chances to draw level, but Sadate Ouro Akoriko shot wide before Saname Wome blasted over the bar.

Then, 10 minutes before half-time, Clayton Daniel and then Wome both shot wide, in what could have been game-changing chances.

Moriri almost bagged a brace before the break, against from a Modise free-kick, but his header from close range was grabbed by Mweene.

The second half began with Sundowns coming out all guns blazing, and Stars playing on the counter-attack, and both sides missed a number of chances.

Edward Mnqele forced a save out of Wayne Sandilands on 54 minutes, but on the hour mark Sundowns extended their lead, when Mokoena connected with Modise's cross to make it 2-0.

Mnqele then blasted over the bar 13 minutes from time.

Free State Stars were reduced to 10 men in the final minutes, when Akoriko was sent off, although they had a chance to get one back when substitute Morou Zakari fired a header over in injury time.

As much as I want to congratulate the Flops but having Teko in the team, regardless of how he's performing currently, will always count against you.

Furthermore, please refer not far away from you...I mean SSU...how did they start the league and where are they now? Just posing a bit of a challenge.

Congratulation to Sundowns. The team is starting to master the philosophy of the coach. The team is a well oiled drilled machine of the 4-3-3 approach. I am waiting to hand pirates their elusive loss against sundawana

Some say that he has repeatedly watched Chomee's Jiva S¤x¥ on YouTube 2001 times and that he's a "regular" at Teazers Strip Club, some even say he's "fully" commited to Jessica 'MADAM J' Motaung but he only eats cheese, but ALL I KNOW is, he's from the first genaration which played Total Football, he's a fearless disciplinarian, a master tactician, an orchestrator of carpet beautiful football and he's Sir. Neeskens!

Master Neeskens let THEM feel the fury of a raging Yellow-Mean-Machine, let THEM see the bloodbath of a brutal Yellow-Mean-Machine and let THEM fear the power of a deadly Yellow-Mean-Machine, raring to go, ready to sting and ready to strike, Master Neeskens let THEM feel, see and fear!

3 points were at stake, 3 points were artfully snatched away from the defense-minded Free State Kangoroos.

So I truely thank all the Pelepeles, the Generals and the Killers who lead from the front cause these Kangoroos are known to be stubborn and rigid.

WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION (Mphela, Mushekwi & Pelembe) throughout the first games you have showered us with avalanche and avalanches of goals, and thats how we like it.

The Majestic Brazilians, Kings Of Tshwane, Rulers of Mzansi football, I mean you the inventors of rhythimic carpet football filled with FLAIR, COLOUR & SAMBA, you the engineers and architects of legendary "PIANO & SHOESHINE", wow, throughout the first half of the season you have mesmerised us with hyponitising football, so I encourage you to come back and continue where you left off when the second half resumes.

BAFANA BA STYLE you are champions in the making and Im enjoying the thrill of this journey cause I know the prestigous CROWN is anxiously waiting for your head.

KA BO YELLOW, MASANDAWANA, KA BO YELLOW!!!

(Merry Xmas and a very HAPPY New Year to everyone and everybody!)
