It was two goals apiece as Golden Arrows drew with Moroka Swallows at the Chatsworth Stadium on Sunday.
Koketso Mmotong opened the scoring in the first minute, before Philani Shange levelled the scores. Siyabonga Nomvete gave Swallows the lead, before substitute Vusumuzi Vilakazi earned Arrows the point.
It was the perfect start for the side from Soweto when Mmotong gave Swallows the lead in the first minute of the match.
Vuyo Mere whipped in a cross from the right wing and Mmotong showed his class as he superbly volleyed home from about six yards out to make it 1-0.
Thereafter Arrows dictated terms from the middle of the park.
Collins Mbesuma had some chances on goal but his finishing left a lot to be desired.
Siyabonga Sangweni almost found the equaliser for the Durban side when he pulled the best out of Greg Etafia in the 32nd minute.
Sangweni met a cross from the left with a powerful header, but Etafia pulled off a top draw save diving full stretch to his right to deny the attacker.
Finally, Arrows made their pressure pay off when Philani Shange levelled the scores for the home side in the 35th minute.
Siyande Zwane provided a pin-point cross to find Shange inside the box and the Arrows player made no mistake with clinical finish from about 12-yards out to make it 1-1.
In the 39th minute Sibaya cleared Mzuvukile Tom’s header off the line after a Manqana corner-kick.
Sibaya was in the thick of the action on the other end of the park a minute later, letting rip with a long-range effort that did not miss by much.
The second half saw Arrows continue to dominate proceedings, but they failed to take their chances in front of goal and were made to pay dearly when they went behind for the second time in the 65th minute.
Substitute Oscar Machapa whipped in a cross from the right and Siyabonga Nomvete rose highest to head the ball home to give Swallows the lead.
The lead only lasted 13 minutes as Vusumuzi Vilakazi found the back of the net after being on the field for just three minutes.
Vilakazi rounded off a great passing movement by the home side firing the ball home from 12 yards out.
Arrows end a four game losing streak and Swallows move within three points of Maritzburg United ahead of them on the log.
