Ajax Cape Town came from a goal down to beat Bidvest Wits 3-1 at Newlands on Friday night.
The Urban Warriors made a bright start and nearly took a 10th-minute lead through George Maluleka, who was unlucky to see his curler hit the upright.
For Wits, Ryan Chapman came close to scoring in the 17th minute when he beat Hans Vonk to the ball, but his chip from a tight angle was saved on the line by Brett Evans.
The Students went ahead in the 27th minute when Nyiko Tshabangu rounded off a sweeping counter-attack with a stinging near-post drive past Vonk.
With the Students enjoying the better of the closing stages of the first half, the teams went into the break with the score 1-0 to the visitors.
However, it took just four second half minutes for the Urban Warriors to totally turn the game around.
Sameehg Doutie made it 1-1 in the 50th minute as he blasted past Darren Keet from 14-yards after being played in by Terror Fanteni.
And then three minutes later Thulani Serero was on the score-sheet, making it 2-1 to the hosts as he rounded off a lovely move with a deft chip.
The third goal came in the 73rd minute as Fanteni squared for Doutie; the latter finishing with a low shot past Keet after a quick turn.
In the end Ajax held on easily for win and three points, condemning Wits to their third defeat in the Mother City this season.
