Platinum Stars, AmaZulu share the spoils

Posted: 22 September 2010 Time: 21:48

Platinum Stars twice came from behind to earn a 2-2 draw with AmaZulu in their League encounter at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium on Wednesday evening.

Bongani Mbhele put Usuthu ahead, before Lebo Ramosela scored his maiden goal for Dikwena to level the scores. The visitors were back in front through Siyabonga Vilane, but Zimbabwean striker Terrence Mandaza netted on debut to rescue a point for the home side.

Stars shaded the first half action, but could not find a route to goal as Mandaza, Ramolesa and Thuso Phala all went close.

AmaZulu made an period of pressure early in the second half tell as they took the lead through Mbhele on 50 minutes as he converted after being played in by Ayanda Dlamini.

The lead lasted just six minutes though as Ramolesa headed home a Phala corner to bring the home side level.

Usuthu were back in front on 69 minutes when Vilane netted his first goal for the club, but there was more drama to come as Mandaza headed home Joseph Mkalipa's corner for another set-piece goal for the home side.

It will be bitter disappointment for AmaZulu coach Manqoba Mngqithi, who saw his side blow a two-goal lead against Moroka Swallows on Sunday, and now twice give up the advantage away from home to Stars.

It is now questionable that was it worth it to dispose of players that the team had before being convinced that the squad they are having is capable enough to fight its own. Secondly the management is still dragging its feet in quikening the pace of registering players. The management counted the chicken before they are hatched by assuming that by mere having Zimbambweans they have achieved the full squad. Mr TV forgot that he was from the sibling of Orlando Pirates, that is Golden Arrows where things were happening in haste and fast. These teams cannot be compared. See now AMAZULU are beaten with the amunition in the cupboard. When will the working permits beattained for the players that were praisedso much. They will soon or gradually lose form and confidence with the management that claims to be perfect.

Loosing points like this is not acceptable, I think Van Heerden should quickly recover because the guys do score but only this back-line
