Ajax pile misery on Cosmos

Posted: 16 February 2010 Time: 21:59

Ezenkosi’s plummet towards the first division was compounded with a 1-0 loss to Ajax on Tuesday night.

Ajax were far and away the dominant side in the first half, but a couple of good saves from Avril Phali, together with some inadequate finishing meant there were no goals at half-time.

The best opportunities for the home side came in the third minute when Phali used his legs to keep out Dipsy Selolwane’s shot and in the 25th minute, when Nathan Pausle looked set to bundle the ball over the line from Sameegh Doutie’s cross, but again Phali intervened.

Cosmos hardly had a sniff at the Ajax goal, with Bamuza Sono’s attempted 17th minute chip the only real chance they had, while the Urban Warriors had further opportunities through Lance Davids, Deniss Ivanovs and Thulani Serero, but were unable to make their chances count.

Davids nearly opened the scoring in the 53rd minute, but after a fine solo run, he was denied by another brilliant Phali save.

Both teams then had chances from free kicks, but Thapelo Tshilo for Cosmos and Doutie and George Maluleka for Ajax were all unable to hit the back of the net.

Paulse had a fantastic opportunity to score with 80 minutes on the clock, but he fluffed his lob and then made a real hash of an attempted back-heel.

But in the 82nd minute Phali’s net was finally breached via Selolwane’s deflected shot from out wide on the right.

Thank u Reverend Mzakes on such a touchy obituary of the deceased. We bear witness to the fact that they once were pronounced dead by the Doctors a season ago but surprised all and sundry by rising back from the dead. However, this time there won't be any romantic Hollywood comeback, they r now dusted to the dustbin of haves been forever. In the now famous words of Dr Iron Duke on the eve of the Ellis Park stampede which claimed 43 lives : "may ur souls rest in PIECES".

U r welcome Reverend Mzakes. As the Holy Book says : Pride walks before the fall. Jomo deserves all that comes his way. He should have learned his lesson after going down a season ago but his pride misled him into this big headed decision of doing it his way and trying to prove us wrong. Only if he had listened to advise. As the Holy Book says : Let not ur hearts be troubled, in my Father's house there r many mansions, I go there to prepare a place for u, then I'll come back to take u home to be with me 1 by 1, now Jomo is home in his mansion. Requiescat in pace, Latin for : may they rest in Peace.

Bra J..this is a wake up call.We need you at SAFA or PSL for the smooth running of our soccer. You are well respected and outspoken(not a stooge like some of the guys).Poeple like you are good in sporting good talent and you can be usefull in development structures.Thats where your calling is.As for Cosmos...eiish!just admit you made a bad decision. There are takers out there whom you can sell for.We want to remember you as one of the greatest Mzantsi has ever produced. Not a greedy team owner who cries infront of the TV cameras promising twak. The last nail in your cofin is coming on Saturday and thats it.Bra J...you dont want to buy players, hire a coach and above all this, you dont listen to those who tried to advice you.In short when it comes to running your team you suck boss.
