Free State Stars and Santos drew 3-3 in a League match thanks to two late goals from substitute Phikolethu Spelman.
The Free State goals were scored by Aleni Lebyane, Fabio Costa Marinho and an own goal from Ricardo Skippers. The Santos goals came from Erwin Isaacs and a brace from Phikolethu Spelman.
Stars got off to a flyer, with Aleni Lebyane netting in the first attacking move of the game to put the home team 1-0 up inside the opening 60 seconds.
The half time break saw Ea Lla Koto still leading 1-0, and the Free State side were certainly worthy of their lead at the midway point.
Stars duly doubled their lead early in the second half, with Taaibos setting up defender Fabio Costa Marinho for a goal in the 47th minute.
However, Santos hit straight back just two minutes later, with Erwin Isaacs beating Walter Khumalo in the Stars goal to make the score 2-1.
In the 81st minute Santos defender Ricardo Skippers scored an unfortunate own goal to put the home team 3-1 up.
Yet the People’s Team refused to give in and again hit straight back in the 83rd minute with a strike from substitute Phikolethu Spelman to set up a tense finish.
The striker made himself the hero for the Cape side with a dramatic equaliser deep into referee’s optional time to level the scores at 3-3.
