SuperSport march past Aces

SuperSport United beat Mpumalanga Black Aces 3-0 in a League clash at a wet Loftus Stadium in Saturday night to extend their lead at the top of the table.

Matsatsantsa scored their goals through Anthony Laffor, Glen Salmon and Jabulani Maluleke. The match was played in wet and slippery conditions.

Aces created more chances early in the game with their leading goal scorer Clifford Mulenga, who has netted seven in the League so far, and Maleka at the forefront but just like in their past matches they could not finish the chances they created, while on the other hand United threatened through Salmon and Laffor.

After those fluffed chances in the opening minutes, the goal finally arrived in the 39th minute when Aces goalkeeper Oscar Ramogoadi punched Daine Klate's long range free-kick in the path of Laffor, who somehow found himself unmarked in the box, to hammer home his seventh league goal of the season in the 39th minute.

True to their dominance in the second half, United effectively wrapped up the three points when Klate disposed Teboho Mokoena to pass the ball to Salmon, who scored with a shot.

Jabulani Maluleke thumped a 35-metre strike to give Ramogoadi no chance in the 84 minute to make the score 3-0..

In the closing stages United had to play the remaining four minutes plus injury time with ten players after defender Thabo September was stretched off the field when Hunt had already made all his three substitutions.
