Valuable win for Chiefs

Posted: 15 September 2009 Time: 21:30

Siphiwe Tshabalala's retaken penalty is enough to give Kaizer Chiefs a precious 1-0 win over Platinum Stars

It was all Platinum Stars in the first half as Chiefs failed to test Wayne Sandilands at all.

Stars had their chances and really should have been two or three goals up at the break.

Almiro Lobo hit the crossbar in a fantastic move involving Alton Meiring and Tsepo Ramokala.

Lobo missed another good chance and Meiring forced two saves out of Arthur Bartman.

Then against the run of play Chiefs scored the opener.

Tshabalala won himself a penalty when he took cleverly on George Mofokeng inside the area, and the big defender made a clumsy challenge.

'Shabba' scored, but had to retake his spot kick and scored again, going the same way as his first strike.

But just before the penalty, Steve Komphela felt that Tshabalala had fouled Stanley Kgatla on route to the penalty area.

A furious Steve Komphela continued to complain and got himself into further trouble with the referee and got sent off for abusing Matthew Dyer.

Substitute Nkosinathi Nhleko came on and helped Chiefs keep the pressure on Stars late in the game.

Tshabalala should have scored a second. But in a one on one situation with Sandilands he takes too long to execute his shot and instead his weak attempt is thwarted.

Who'd have thought that the Khosi family would one day celebrate scoring 7 points after 6 games huh, times are tough but 'm confident in our team, the boys will bounce back, it's only a matter of time before we go back to our rightful position on the log, Top 3, as long as the boys show consistency then nothing's impossible!!

I bet you are very upset that Chiefs won. I am happy for them. Its just not right to have Chiefs at the bottom on the log otherwise Broken Fan, SIBUSISO and others will be telling us how crap Pirates is because of frustration..

I am still excited after being one of the luky people to witness the launch of the new theme "Rise of the machine" live. The machine has indeed re-started itself. To Sir Bobby Motaung, I wish the team could reconsider its home ground. That place is cursed with bad luck. We collect more points when we play outside Orlando. Congrats to Bartman u still have it. VV thanks for resting Isaacs, he is good watching from the bench so he can see what is required from him. Mbooi, not bad at all. Shabba, please be serious my laaitie. Overall it was a good game. Nhleko and Musona should start the next game…The Machine has restarted…

What they know most is to cry foul about other teams benefiting from the mistake of the refree but when it comes to them they celebrate like they is nothing happaned on this earth.Chiefs supporters must learn that you benefit from some and you lost from those mistake. Before that penalty chiefs foul a player from Stars and refree said play on.No chiefs suppoters so that becaouse from that it was a penalty.Chiefs supporters are cluuless about soccer and must start to lern.If itwas another team they will be noise from tem as if they have been biten by a snake.Shame on you Moegoes.

chilli??? Be like your name & take a chil pill - moron, , ,dont you know that sometimes players dive? why do I even bother to reply to you, , your mates will do the talking, your own size check Kali's comments & you will see what I mean... ohhh by the way & some of other guys on your leaque are Bonga,Juan Pablo & ofcourse Mzukizi...

Congratulations guys, I was impressed with Motaung jnr's passes, I wish you can pass more than trying to score...

Yes we scored the same way, sundowns scored, the same way Supersport scored, the same way Ajax knocked us out of the competition...

Even thou I am not sure why did Tshabalala had to re-take the penalty, I did not see any infringment from chiefs players....

As for tonight's games, , please please please Mr Referees keep on doing the good job by awarding penalties if you think is a penalty... we will complain but it wont matter & those who dive give them red cards....

who's next? Swallows...................

Congradulation Amakhosi (I wanted to say Amahle but the football display was appauling). This should be a confidence boost although I dont think it will make any difference. As much as I dont support chiefs but I love Soweto and tressure everything that comes from there but I must say to who ever that supports chiefs that is happy with this win needs to think again because this team has a long way to go.They cant even string 6-8 passes together to be honest it looked like a team from "Raga Bollo".Bobsteak needs to stop killin this team and come "January Afake imali Uzobona" because "achi Hutata".Good Luck to My Team "Bucs", I say to you this year lets take it game per game no big heads and we will be rewarded. As long as my skin is still black I will always be happy.Orlando Pirates is not a just Club Its a MOVEMENT.
