Arrows, Aces in stalemate

Godfrey Nobula’s goalline clearance in the dying minutes ensured Mpumalanga Black Aces and Golden Arrows played to a goalless draw at Ackerville Stadium.
In a game of limited chances, Njabulo Manqana came closest when his shot from the edge of the area beat the keeper, but not the Aces captain, who held his nerve to clear.
In fact, it was a game limited to long-range effort and one or two gilt-edged misses, with Shere Lekgothoane hitting his shot against a defender from close range, while Jacob Machaka squandered a great heading chance after some clever play by Sibusiso Themba.
High-flying Arrows were better after the break, but after a great passing move and with only the keeper to beat, Manqana hit his effort agonizingly wide.
Gilbert Mushangazhike also missed a great headed chance before Nobula’s heroics ensured the hosts shared the points.
