SuperSport United’s quest for a third consecutive League title was dealt a minor blow following a 1-1 draw against Bloemfontein Celtic on Wednesday night.
In a fairly even contest, the hosts took the lead in the 12th minute in front of their vociferous home support at Seisa Ramabodu through Tlou Segolela, who fired home a low shot after Sandile Ndlovu had left the Matsatsantsa defence for dead.
But it took SuperSport just five minutes to equalise – Glen Salmon rising highest to power home Siyabonga Nkosi’s corner-kick.
Salmon came close to his brace just before half-time when he narrowly fired over from another delivery from Nkosi, who then missed a gilt-edged chance just past the hour-mark when he dragged a shot wide from inside the area.
Ndlovu came close a header in the second half, but in the end the teams settled for a share of the spoils to keep their unbeaten starts to the League season intact.
