Maritzburg United continued their unbeaten start to the Absa Premiership season with a comfortable 2-0 win over KwaZulu-Natal rivals Maritzburg United at the Woodburn Stadium on Wednesday night.

First-half goals from Fadlu Davids and Noah Chivuta were enough to see off the challenge of Usuthu, who were perhaps still a little flat from their MTN8 semifinal defeat to Golden Arrows at the weekend.

Davids headed home a Peter Petersen cross after 38 minutes, before Chivuta added a second just a minute before halftime.

The win moves Maritzburg up to second with a clutch of teams on five points with just three games played in the season.
