Golden Arrows and BidVest Wits played to a 2-2 draw at King Zwelithini Stadium on Saturday.
Both teams had plenty of chances, but didn’t manage to convert enough of them to take the game.
The first chance came in the seventh minute from a Noah Chivuta free kick, but Nkosana Maseko made an excellent save.
Golden Arrows made it 1-0 in the 10th minute, when Vumane Mavundla’s corner kick found Musa Bilankulu who headed home.
Maseko made another good save in the 20th minute to stop an extremely strong Chivuta shot from right outside the box.
The scores where levelled in the 30th minute when a cross from Richard Rantjie was deflected in by Siyabonga Sangweni.
Wits went ahead in the 36th courtesy of another Rantjie cross, which was tapped in easily by Clive Moyo-Modise.
Arrows came back strongly in the second half, and had the upper hand, but some excellent saves from Moeneeb Josephs kept Wits’ head above water.
Arrows eventually equalised again in the 50th minute when an attempted clearance by Richard Gariseb hit Phil Evans and fell at the feet of Sehlolo Nale, whose good reactions resulted in a 2-2 scoreline.
