Leopards' woes continue

Posted: 1 March 2008 Time: 17:57

AmaZulu beat Black Leopards 2-0 in an Absa Premiership match at Princess Magogo Stadium on Saturday.

The first half was not the most exciting. Leopards were playing with the wind at their back, and were on top of AmaZulu for most of the first half.

The best chance of the half came when Dumisani Ngwenya played Shoes Moshoeu through, to force a very good save from Leopards keeper Mashudu Mamphitha .

AmaZulu took the lead in the second half, after a howler from the Black Leopard’s keeper. Jan Sillo’s free kick from deep right midfield was spilled by Mamphitha, into the path of Siyabonga Mkhwanazi, who headed into an empty net.

In the 63rd minute things got worse for Leopards after Hlompho Kekana was red-carded for a two-footed challenge on Belux Bukasa Kasongo.

In the 73rd minute there was a sense of déjà vu, as a free kick from Bafo Biyela was again spilled by the Leopard’s keeper, for Moshoeu to head home. The goal, however, was ruled offside.

AmaZulu made it 2-0 in the 87th, when a long ball over the top released Sillo, who squared it to substitute Mpho Maleka for an easy finish.

Black leopards have been having it coming for quiete some time, how they are still playing in the elite league beats me. I am a venda speaking South African currently living in Stellenbosch and I have always said that BL needs to stop being a family thing before it become anything than it is. There is a serious lack of professionalism in that team, players live in excruciating residences.

Let's look at it this way. It looks like Black Leopards coach Boebie Solomons will walk the plank and be unemployed soon. If AmaZulu had won, the speculation that former 'Downs coach Gordon Igesund would take over from Clive Barker would have grown. And with BL at the bottom of the log, it looks like the Thidielas will have to handle the matters themselves before they find themselves in the 1st Division. I agree with Rudzani that there is no professionalism in the team. And if the team was winning, Solomons was not going to get praise but the players. I'm surprised that Jomo Cosmos is also losing their games and are also relegation candidates and no one is speculating on Jomo Sono's future as Ezenkosi coach. If Igesund is waiting for Barker's job like an eagle, it will be a sad day for local soccer because at one time Gordon was a Bafana Bafana material, unless if he wants to win the league with Usuthu like he did with Manning Rangers, Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns. What is funny here is that he won a championship that was there for the taking for Gamondi and Neil Tovey. And when he was shown the door, it came as no surprise, but was a case of de javu. Trott should also watch his back since he was brought by Gordon to the team. Maybe Sundowns should just employ Jake White as their coach!

Rudzani--you are absolutely right i have been critical on the same issue you have commented, they runs the team like a spaza shop, they should have taken team away from that old man long time ago, David was a reciepy for disaster, i support the team simply because locals benefit from their home game,
they were too stinchy to even sign quality players, to tell the truth they have that policily which requires player to play number of games before they get Signing on fee, no professional player will sign that S***t that is why Ngebese, Gert, Malinga did not sign, and Chabalala Left because they did no want pay him R100 000 signing on fee because he did not play 7 matches before december which he was not aware of before signing then they told the coach not play him because they will have pay the money, they are too fond of cheap labour.

An R80m investment is now worth merely R7m because of stupidity

they must go and busk with crocodiles(allegators) at NFD, PSL does not need rogue bosses like the Thidielas who are just exploting players, they must pay to see action

someone from venda must just buy it from those loosers who thinks they own Venda, they are disgrace to the community of Venda they can not complain of sporsor because psl give them R2m/month grant what the f****k are they doing with it?, tha DAVID must not even breath a word because we are tired of stories, why did they go to Malawi instead of signing quality players when they had time,

Do they know why gambers loose...?
because of grid.

They start getting more money from they league and decide get rich quickly, not buying quality player, try to forge some deals in malawi to acquire cheap labour, they should ask us about malawi since PSL the only quality malawi has produce was Ernest Chirwali,

I must point out that I have never supported BL, and having said that I don't comment on the basis of hatred, but on facts and as a concerned Limpopo resident. The sooner Thidiela snr. swallows his cheap pride and get people around him who will advice the better. He is flanked by people who make him feel good about himself, and that is deceiving, and the poor showings are a result of that. His son, Tshifhiwa is a useless employee adding no value in that team, all he cares about is acting 'celebrity', going up and down looking for the nearest camera to show off, remember the game against G. Arrows last season? or you probably know the other games where he showed off also. The people of Limpopo don't care about the money, they care about the results, and less embarassment. Get your act together, you show offs. RF Musekwa. Stellenbosch university.

To the Thidiela's: This is what you get for not spending money on players. For you to suceed you need to do one of the following: It's either you buy great players and pay them good salaries (not the peanuts that you pay to your current players) or you prepare for a place in NFD Inland Stream.
