AmaZulu beat Black Leopards 2-0 in an Absa Premiership match at Princess Magogo Stadium on Saturday.
The first half was not the most exciting. Leopards were playing with the wind at their back, and were on top of AmaZulu for most of the first half.
The best chance of the half came when Dumisani Ngwenya played Shoes Moshoeu through, to force a very good save from Leopards keeper Mashudu Mamphitha .
AmaZulu took the lead in the second half, after a howler from the Black Leopard’s keeper. Jan Sillo’s free kick from deep right midfield was spilled by Mamphitha, into the path of Siyabonga Mkhwanazi, who headed into an empty net.
In the 63rd minute things got worse for Leopards after Hlompho Kekana was red-carded for a two-footed challenge on Belux Bukasa Kasongo.
In the 73rd minute there was a sense of déjà vu, as a free kick from Bafo Biyela was again spilled by the Leopard’s keeper, for Moshoeu to head home. The goal, however, was ruled offside.
AmaZulu made it 2-0 in the 87th, when a long ball over the top released Sillo, who squared it to substitute Mpho Maleka for an easy finish.
