Thanda Royal Zulu see Stars

Platinum Stars beat Thanda Royal Zulu FC in an Absa Premiership match at Princess Magogo Stadium on Saturday.

Thanda had the lion’s share of possession for much of the game, but couldn’t beat Stars for technical ability or strength.

In the second minute July Mahlangu had an impressive long-range shot tipped over the bar by Tapiwa Kapini.

Stars went ahead in the 18th minute, when, from an innocuous cross, an unmarked Phumudzo Manenzhe’ glancing header found the keeper in no man’s land.

In the 23rd minute Thanda had a chance to equalise, when the goalkeeper dealt badly with Bennet Mnguni’s harmless-looking shot, but the ball shot off the post.

After a period of pressure from Thanda, Stars made it 2-0 against the run of play, when Luis Renteria put on a burst of pace to beat Patrick Mayo and slot home past the keeper.

Thanda managed a consolation goal in the 80th minute, when Stars’ keeper Kapini makes a hash of a long ball, chesting it into the path of a chasing-down Serge Djiehoua, who walked the ball into the net.

I still believe Scara took a wrong career decision by joining this team. Scara's play is motivated by the response of the fans of which this team has none. Unfortunately what's done is done & he can't return to Chiefs (where he belongs). Scara was critisized by Mazinyo & he proved him wrong, he could've done the same with Muhsin who has recently bowed to pressure to called Schalwyk from wherever he kept him. I'm sure Thanda is already eyeing a Team to buy for next season.

Yah..there is no short cut to success. You have to start at Mvela and move to the PSL...mmm but Thanda has started from PSL and they are now heading to Mvela. Thats a big flop...I wish Cosmos could be relegated at the end of the season...maybe Jomo will step down. A soccer legend who fails to win the league with Cosmos...sis!!!!!!
