Mamelodi Sundowns handed BidVest Wits a footballing lesson during their 3-1 Premier League win over the Students at BidVest Stadium on Wednesday night.
Josta Dladla, Lerato Chabangu and Brent Carelse scored for the Brazilians, while Noah Chivuta netted for the Students.
All the goals were scored in the opening half hour of the game, with Sundowns going ahead in the very first minute when Dladla slotted home from a cross by Dillon Sheppard.
However, their lead was short-lived as the hosts drew level nine minutes later when Chivuta converted a cross by Phil Evans.
But the visitors regained their lead in the 21st minute when Chabangu slotted home after latching onto a long ball by Benson Mhlongo.
Sundowns extended their lead three minutes later when Carelse headed home a free-kick by Esrom Nyandoro.
BidVest Wits then dominated for the rest of the half, winning several corners as they laid siege on the Sundowns goal, but they were unable to convert any of the chances that came their way, with the score still 3-1 at the break.
The hosts continued pushing forward in the second half, with Sundowns superb in defence and looking to catch the Students on the break.
Despite all their efforts, neither side could add to their respective tallies and the match ended 3-1, lifting Sundowns out of the bottom three.
