Golden Arrows shocked Mamelodi Sundowns 2-1 in an Absa Premier League match on Loftus on Saturday night to avenge their 3-0 loss to Sundowns in the Telkom Knockout Cup in September.
The Arrows goals were scored by Thabiso Gopane and Vusumuzi Vilakazi (pictured) while Esrom Nyandoro scored for the Brazilians.
Arrows thoroughly deserved the win as they looked the better side and in the second half looked the stronger.
Arrows opened the scoring in the 38th minute when Thabiso Gopane scored with a shot in the 38th minute.
The equalizer came through an Esrom Nyandoro shot from about 25-yards out in the 53rd minute.
The winner was scored by a shot from Vusumuzi Vilakazi from about 18-yards out in the 60th minute.
Late in the game Vilakazi nearly got his second goal but was denied by the post.
The win sees Arrows in the top half of the table on 10 points while Sundowns are in the bottom half on 5 points.
