Absa Premiership match report Black Leopards v Baroka 03 October 2018

Posted: 3 October 2018 Time: 17:33

Black Leopards moved away from the bottom of the log with a crucial 1-0 win over Baroka FC in the Limpopo derby.

Bakgaga started the match on the front foot, pressurising the hosts early on but they were rushing their moves upfront.

Collins Makgaka was particularly dangerous on the right wing for Wedson Nyirenda’s charges, sending good deliveries into the box but the likes of Ranga Chivaviro were not taking advantage.

Leopards were still absorbing the pressure towards the half-hour and were looking to pounce on counter-attacks.

However, Lidoda Duvha were getting into the game as the half drew to a close, but neither side could find an opening and it went into the break goalless.

Bakgaga made an attacking change after the hour-mark, bringing on Richard Matloga in place of Mpho Kgaswane.

Phathutshedzo Nange broke the deadlock for Leopards 13 minutes before time to give the home crowd something to shout about.

Bakgaga pushed for the equaliser in the closing stages of the match, but Lidoda Duvha were solid at the back and held on for their second win of the campaign.

Bakgaga, meanwhile, are now winless in their last seven games, as the pressure continues to mount on Nyirenda.
