Bidvest Wits left themselves in the hunt for a top-eight finish in the Absa Premiership after seeing off AmaZulu 2-1 at the Bidvest Stadium on Saturday.
Usuthu knew a victory would consolidate their spot in the top eight with one round of matches to go, while Wits were looking to move away from the relegation play-off spot.
Majoro went agonisingly close to taking the lead after 15 minutes when he rattled the crossbar following a cross from Elias Pelembe.
AmaZulu went ahead with their first real effort of the game as Micheal Morton sent a fine volley past goalkeeper Darren Keet after 35 minutes.
The Clever Boys continued to dominate as the half went on, but they failed to find an equaliser in the closing stages of the half.
The leveler eventually arrived after 64 minutes thanks to a fine header from Daine Klate, just minutes after Reeve Frosler had a penalty saved by Siyabonga Mbatha.
The Clever Boys were in the ascendancy and they took the lead in the 82nd minute through substitute Eleazar Rodgers
Seven minutes later, It was 3-1 when Ben Motshwari fired past Mbatha from close range.
Tapelo Nyongo did reduce the deficit once again, but the Gavin Hunt's charges managed to hold on for the win.
