Polokwane City and Cape Town City played out a 1-1 draw in an Absa Premiership clash in Polokwane on Wednesday.
Rise and Shine, who are still chasing a top-eight spot, started off slowly with limited chances at the goal of the visitors early on in the game.
They were unfortunate not to go in front after Puleng Tlolane's celebrations were short-lived with his goal being disallowed in the opening five minutes.
The Citizens kept their cool and didn’t budge under pressure, creating a few meaningful chances of their own.
There’s was nothing they could do though from preventing Thapelo Tshilo to rise above their defenders to head home the opener following a corner just before half-time.
Following wave and wave of attacks by Benni McCarthy’s side, they were unable to rattle the net with Harold Ndlovu pulling off breathtaking saves at the midway point.
Sage Stephens, meanwhile, came to their rescue with a point-blank save from a shot by Rodney Ramagalela.
The visitors finally found the equaliser when Thamsanqa Mkhize fired home a well-taken free-kick by Ayanda Patosi after 77 minutes for a crucial away point in the Limpopo province.
