Neither Cape Town City nor SuperSport United could make the most of their Absa Premiership encounter as the sides draw 0-0 on Saturday.
SuperSport were out to build on their impressive result against the title-chasing Orlando Pirates in midweek and extend the one-point gap between themselves and the relegation playoff spot.
The Citizens, meanwhile, have top-eight aspiration and entered the tie sixth, just two points clear in the MTN8-qualifying positions.
Matsatsantsa made a positive start, with the first effort on goal by Aubrey Modiba, who fired in a shot from outside the box after two minutes.
The closest City came saw a rebound falling to Thabo Nodada, who failed to take advantage by hoofing his effort over the top.
Craig Martin the came agonisingly close as he broke from out wide and cracked the post with a curling shot.
Modiba looked to bring a bit of spark in the clash with a left-foot curler which Sage Stephens tip over after 65 minutes.
Another shot from close range followed, this time from Thuso Phala after the ball roll kindly for him following a cross from the left.
City failed to make the most of their chances, with Surprise Ralani unable to steer home an inch-perfect delivery as both sides canceled each other out.
