Ajax Cape Town beat Black Leopards 1-0 in a hard and physical Castle Premiership match at Athlone on Saturday night.

The only goal was scored by Sameegh Doutie (pictured) and both teams had a player red carded late in the game.

The match was played at a fast pace early on with Ajax taking the attack to the visitors.

Leopards keeper Mashudu Mamphitha had a great game up until he was injured and carried off the field just before half time, after he was kicked by Clinton Emmanuel.

Mamphitha was replaced by Ephraim Tjihonge.

The goal was scored by a Doutie shot from inside the box after he got a cross from Franklin Cale.

In the 90th minute Ajax’ Nathan Paulse head-butted Alpheus Kekana in the face, teammate Wonani Mulaudzi retaliated and head-butted Paulse, the referee red carded both Paulse and Mulaudzi.

In the end Ajax deserved the win as they looked the more likely to score.
