Chelsea beat Everton for their second consecutive victory in the English Premier League

English Premier League champions Chelsea continued where they left off against Tottenham Hotspur last weekend as they registered a comfortable victory over Everton at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.

The Blues, who fought hard to beat Spurs 2-1 in their last league match, scored twice in the first half to beat Everton 2-0 in a much more convincing performance from Antonio Conte’s men.

Chelsea’s Cesc Fabregas returned to the starting line-up after his sending off on the opening weekend of the season against Burnley and fired the hosts into the lead just before the mark.

He was set up by the club’s record signing Alvaro Morata and the midfielder beat Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford with a low shot.

Five minutes before the break, Chelsea extended their lead as Morata went from provider to goal scorer. The Spaniard got his head onto a Cesar Azpilicueta cross and gave Chelsea a comfortable lead going into the half-time break.

Chelsea were not able to extend their lead in the second half, but Conte would no doubt have been happy with the club's first clean sheet of the season.
