SuperSport United’s Anthony Laffor equalised soon after Dikgang Mabalane’s second half strike to keep the champions six points clear of their title challengers Orlando Pirates.
Bucs winger Mabalane rifled home the opening goal with his right foot in the 76th minute. This, after a tense match full of bite and some quality passing and attacking play from both teams.
But ‘Terminator’s’ goal did not keep Bucs in the lead for long. Bucs fans celebrated wildly at Loftus Versfeld as it seemed like Pirates had closed the gap between them and SuperSport.
But Liberian striker Tony Laffor equalised just three minutes later from inside the penalty area after Andre Arendse had moved the ball upfield quickly.
The crowd who turned up at Loftus witnessed an exciting match that produced over 25 shots at goal. Possession of the ball was equal with both sides enjoying some excellent passages of play.
In the end a draw was probably the fairest result.
However, the happiest of the coaches will be Gavin Hunt who can enjoy a healthy gap between his side and Ruud Krol’s.
