Chippa United Witbank Spurs Nedbank Cup last 32 report

Posted: 15 March 2017 Time: 19:17

Chippa United saw off Witbank Spurs 1-0 in a Nedbank Cup last 32 clash at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Wednesday.

The home side nearly took the lead in the 25th minute when Thamsanqa Sangweni crashed a left-footed volley against the crossbar.

There were not many further chances as the first half ended goalless, and Lerato Manzini proved the match-winner in the second half when he finished off a fine team move.

It was Manzini's fourth goal in the last five matches as Paseko Mako made a brilliant run down the left-hand side before putting it on a plate for him.

Spurs struggled to create chances that could threaten Daniel Akpeyi in the Chippa goal as Dan Malesela’s side saw out the result in relative comfort.
