Amajita earn place in CAF U20 African Nations Cup semi-final with win over Sudan

South Africa cruised into the CAF Under-20 African Nations Cup semi-finals with a 3-1 win over Sudan at the Heroes National Stadium on Sunday.
Thabo Senong’s men came out the blocks flying and took the lead after just 12 minutes, Luther Singh producing a great run before playing in Bidvest Wits star Phakamani Mahlambi, who slotted home past the goalkeeper.
However, Amajita were only ahead for 13 minutes as Sudan struck back, Osman ensuring the teams would head down the tunnel with the scores level pegging.
South Africa started the second-half the same way they had the first and regained the lead through Grant Margeman right on the hour-mark before Sibongakonke Mbatha got in on the action with a tap-in from Kobamelo Kodisang’s cut-back to hand the visitors a two-goal cushion.
