Champions Mamelodi Sundowns made it four league wins in a row with a 5-0 thrashing of struggling Highlands Park in Tshwane on Sunday.
Percy Tau, Anthony Laffor, Sibusiso Vilakazi and Themba Zwane fired the Brazilians into a 4-0 lead at the break, with Rudi Isaacs scoring an own goal shortly after the restart at Loftus Versfeld Stadium.
Sundowns remain eighth on the table but now have 13 points from six games - seven points shy of log leaders Bidvest Wits, who have played two more matches. Highlands are just above the drop zone with seven points from nine fixtures.
Pitso Mosimane's side, 3-0 victors over Golden Arrows in their previous outing, are still playing catch-up in the Absa Premiership following their triumph in the CAF Champions League.
Downs got the ball rolling early, as the in-form Tau lashed a shot into the bottom corner of the net barely seven minutes in.
Liberian attacker Laffor doubled the advantage six minutes later when he turned in a cross from Thapelo Morena.
Bafana Bafana international Vilakazi made it 3-0 just past the half-hour mark after being teed up by Tau.
Zwane added another goal soon after with a clinical finish in the 37th minute for the rampant kings of Africa.
The misery continued after the break for Highlands, as defender Isaacs turned the ball into his own net following a shot from Tau in the 53rd minute.
The visitors, who fielded new signings Lindokuhle Mbatha and Surprise Moriri against their ex-employers, threatened in the latter stages via the likes of Franklin Cale, but Denis Onyango stood firm to collect a clean sheet.
