Bloemfontein Celtic beat Ajax Cape Town 1-0 in their opening Castle Premiership match of the season at the Seisa Ramabodu Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.
The goal was scored by Patrick Malokase (pictured).
This was a typical opening of season type of match with both sides losing the ball unnecessary and not finishing some of the slight chances they had.
The homeside did have a lot more possession and dominated the midfield. Ajax defended well and had a few slight chances in both halves but never really tested keeper Shu-Aib Walters.
Celtic scored in the 52nd minute when Patrick Malokase beat keeper Hans Vonk to the ball on the left side of the box to score from a tight angle with a left-footed shot.
Ajax pressed the Celtic defence hard in the last ten minutes of the game but were unable to crack some resolute defending by the home team.
