Ajax Cape Town Platinum Stars Absa Premiership PSL match report

Posted: 30 April 2017 Time: 14:09

Ajax Cape Town moved above Platinum Stars in the Absa Premiership standings with a 2-0 victory over Dikwena at the Cape Town Stadium on Sunday.

Grant Margeman netted early in the frst half and Nathan Paulse put the hosts further in front in the second stanza to seal the result.

The Urban Warriors were in front inside six minutes as Travis Graham released Margeman with a great pass and the youngster shaped to square before tucking home his third goal of the season at the near post.

Around the 20 minute mark two chances came the way of Prince Nxumalo at the back post, Musa Lebusa picking him out on both occasions, but he was unable to find the target.

Nxumalo was afforded another chance in the 33rd minute as Erwin Isaacs picked him out with a cross but despite getting the ball on target this time it was easily held by Mzimela.

Mzimela denied the striker once again as the half neared its end, spreading himself at the feet of Nxumalo after he ran clear of the defensive line.

After the break a well worked move on the edge of the area freed Mark Mayambela but Ng'ambi intervened to see the AJax man's effort squirt behind for a corner.

In what was a rare chance at the other end Botes' back-heeled attempt went straight at Petersen in between the sticks.

It wasn't long before Ajax doubled their advantage with Ndiviwe Mdabuka's shot taking a wicked deflection off Paulse to end up in the back of the net.

Mayambela was teed up by Mosadi as the half wore on but he couldn't put gloss on his energetic display as he blazed over.
