Platinum Stars Free State Stars Absa Premiership PSL match report

Posted: 26 April 2017 Time: 17:57

Platinum Stars and Free State Stars played to a 1-1 draw in their Absa Premiership encounter at the Moruleng Stadium on Wednesday night.

Evergreen Henrico Botes opened the scoring for Dikwena but the Free Staters were not behind for long as Nhlanhla Vilakazi put them level.

The hosts were in the hunt for a goal early in the encounter with Benson Shilongo finding himself afforded space but unable to direct his shot at goal.

It didn't take long before the deadlock was broken in the 11th minute as veteran hitman Botes rose to head home Gerald Phiri's free kick.

The lead was short lived with Vilakazi restoring parity only seven minutes later as Vilakazi left Mzimela rooted to the spot with a delightful curled effort.

Wanting to regain their advantage Mere took aim but saw his shot tipped over the bar by Ea Lla Koto stopper Thela Ngobeni.

In the second stanza Phiri had his shot blocked as both sides struggled to open each other up and the game remained level until the final whistle.
