Absa Premiership match report Chippa United vs Polokwane City

Posted: 11 April 2017 Time: 18:31

Chippa United and Polokwane City ended an Absa Premiership clash at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Tuesday without finding the back of the net.

Chippa were looking to strengthen their bid for a top-eight finish this season, with the Chilli Boys 10th in the standings before kick-off but only three points adrift of an MTN8-qualifying finish.

For Polokwane, the plan was very much the same, although, with Rise and Shine sitting seventh and four points clear of Chippa ahead of the contest, the pressure might just have been off the hosts.

Nevertheless, the teams cancelled each other out as no goals were scored, and the result looks worse for the Chilli Boys who are now only three points above the relegation zone after Baroka FC beat Free State Stars.
