Absa Premiership match report Platinum Stars vs Chippa United

Posted: 3 March 2017 Time: 19:22

Platinum Stars came from behind to secure a late 2-1 win over Chippa United in an Absa Premiership clash at Royal Bafokeng Stadium on Friday.

Dikwena were desperate to put some daylight between themselves and the relegation zone, with the Rustenberg side sitting 12th in the standings and just five points clear of the bottom two ahead of kick-off.

Chippa had the chance to climb back into the top eight with a win and looked to be heading in that direction when Lerato Manzini gave the Chilli Boys the lead in the 20th minute.

However, Robert Ng'ambi dragged Dikwena back into the match when he equalised just before the hour-mark at Royal Bafokeng Stafium.

Cavin Johnson brought on Benson Shilongo for Bongi Ntuli in the 72nd minute in an attempt to freshen up his attack and the move paid dividends two minutes from the end of regular time when the striker found the back of the net to complete the turnaround.

Dikwena held on to record a valuable three points that sees them leapfrop Chippa into ninth place thanks to a superior goal-difference.
