Chippa United Platinum Stars Absa Premiership PSL report

Posted: 28 October 2016 Time: 18:43

Chippa United had only themselves to blame as they drew 1-1 with Platinum Stars, having missed two penalties at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

Thembinkosi Lorch scored for the hosts in the first-half before Robert Ng'ambi levelled matters after the break.

Marc van Heerden had a spot-kick saved by Mbongeni Mzimela early in the game but the hosts did eventually take the lead through Lorch as the half-hour mark approached.

Dan Malesela's charges took that advantage into the break having been relatively good value for their lead.

However, the Chilli Boys relinquished their lead 15 minutes into the second-half as Ng'ambi netted via his head for the visitors.

Conceding was not part of the script for the Eastern Cape-based side and they pushed hard for a winner after finding themselves back on terms again.

Chippa were then afforded a chance to win the game from the penalty spot in the 90th minute but Lerato Manzini put the ball wide as the game ended all square.
