Baroka FC Chippa United PSL Absa Premiership report

Posted: 28 September 2016 Time: 18:39

Chippa United cruised to a 4-1 victory over Baroka FC in an Absa Premiership clash at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Wednesday.

Marc van Heerden struck for The Chilli Boys with a beautiful goal in the 44th minute direct from a free-kick. The full-back curled it left-footed from the right side of the box, in off the left upright.

David Zulu made it 2-0 just before the hour-mark with a volleyed finish that took a slight deflection off his marker following good work down the Chippa right side.

Five minutes later and 'Dan Dance' was running the touchline again because it was 3-0, as easy you like. Van Heerden ran down the middle onto a through-ball from the left flank and saw his shot parried by Baroka goalkeeper Oscarine Masuluke, and Mbulelo Wambi was on hand to finish on the rebound.

Ndivhuwo Ravhuhali pulled a superb goal back for Bakgaga, a left-footed cracker with 11 minutes remaining, but it meant little in the end as Thembinkosi Lorch put the icing on the cake with a fourth goal for Chippa in the 95th minute following some hustling and bustling by Zaphaniah Mbokoma.

The result moves Chippa into the top eight on seven points, and if they win their game in hand they could find themselves on top of the log.
