Golden Arrows SuperSport United PSL Absa Premiership report

Posted: 28 September 2016 Time: 18:25

Golden Arrows missed a second-half penalty in a 1-1 Absa Premiership draw with 10-man SuperSport United at Princess Magogo Stadium on Wednesday.

Kingson Nkhatha gave Stuart Baxter's side a 14th minute lead, running onto Thuso Phala's pass and rounding the goalkeeper before slotting home.

Arrows pulled level on the half-hour mark when a free-kick from the right flank was only flicked on by Reneilwe Letsholonyane to the far post, where Lerato Lamola did excellently to square the ball first-time across goal for Musa Bilankulu to slide in at the other post.

Onismor Bhasera was sent off for a second yellow card in the 67th minute but Abafana Bes'thende were unable to make their numerical advantage count in the closing stages.

Arrows pushed forward to find a winner and were given a great chance in the 77th minute when Wayde Jooste was brought down inside the box by Denwin Farmer.

Jooste dusted himself off to take the penalty himself but could not beat Ronwen Williams in the SuperSport goal, who produced a fantastic diving save to keep the scores even as Matsatantsa held on for a point.
