Bloemfontein Celtic and Golden Arrows both finished with 10 men but no goals in their Absa Premiership clash at the Free State Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The draw saw Phunya Sele Sele remain 12th in the Absa Premiership standings, while Abafana Bes’thende stayed a place above Celtic on the log.
The visitors applied some pressure on Celtic defence in the opening stages of the game. Kudakwashe Mahachi’s dangerous curling cross was cleared by Bevan Fransman, before Patrick Tignyemb held onto the Zimbabwean’s free-kick.
Dumusani Zuma headed over soon after, before Thapelo Morena played a beautiful cross into the Arrows box, but Fiston Razak was on his heels and the moment was lost.
Five minutes before the break Celtic captain Fransman received his second yellow card of the game.
Despite the setback, Celtic dominated the opening stages of the second half and Morena should have given them the lead after being sent through on goal, but the winger fired over the crossbar.
In the 76th minute Arrows defender Nkanyiso Mngwengwe also received his second yellow, but Celtic could not capitalize and had to settle for a share of the spoils.
