Chippa United turned on the style as they beat Free State Stars 2-0 at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.
The Chilli Boys dominated for most of the game and played some breathtaking football at times.
Stars started well enough and had a couple of half-chances, but nothing to worry Daniel Akpeyi.
Thamsanqa Sangweni and Nhlanhla Vilakazi then exchanged long-range efforts before the opening goal came in the 42nd minute – Xola Mlambo side-footing into the roof of the net to cue a brilliant celebration from coach Dan 'Dance' Malesela.
Aristide Bance had a chance to double that lead shortly afterwards, but he rushed his volley from the edge of the area when he had time on his side.
The Chilli Boys really got into their stride after the break, and Stars keeper Daouda Diakite had to be at his best to deny Buyani Sali and Joseph Molangoane.
However, there was nothing he could do on 71 minutes to deny Chippa a second.
Some beautiful, Barcelona-esque one-touch football ended in Sali squaring to Nkosinathi Mthiyane to side-foot home.
Chippa continued to push for a third, but in the end settled for a 2-0 scoreline which saw them join fifth-placed Platinum Stars on 31 points. Stars dropped down to eighth.
