Platinum Stars secured a 2-0 win over 10-man University of Pretoria in their Absa Premiership clash at Royal Bafokeng Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Solomon Mathe opened the scoring in Rustenburg following an assist from Sibusiso Msomi.

Tuks midfielder Mpho Maruping received his marching orders in the last 20 minutes for receiving two bookings in the space of a couple of minutes as the away side went down to 10 men.

Dikwena made their one-man advantage count as Siyabonga Zulu secured the points for Dikwena with a goal in the 85th minute after he was set up by substitute Eleazar Rodgers.

The result puts Cavin Johnson's side in a comortable position in fifth place while new Tuks coach Shaun Bartlett starts his tenure with a defeat as they remain deep in the relegation mire.
