Ajax Cape Town ended an eight-game winless run with a come-from-behind 2-1 victory at fellow strugglers Jomo Cosmos on Sunday.
Mosa Lebusa headed home a 75th-minute decider after his teammate Prince Nxumalo cancelled out an early opener from Charlton Mashumba at Olen Park.
The Urban Warriors, whose previous triumph came in the MTN8 final in September, pulled seven points clear of the relegation zone into 12th place in the Absa Premiership standings.
Cosmos are a point above the drop zone after 14 games.
Ezenkosi drew first blood as early as the fourth minute when Mashumba chipped Anssi Jaakkola after being put through on goal by Mxolisi Macuphu.
Ajax took the game by the scruff of the neck thereafter, but found it difficult to beat an in-form Sherwyn Naicker between the posts for Cosmos.
In the 25th minute Naiker produced a superb one-handed save to deny Franklin Cale from long distance.
Ten minutes later Naiker’s acrobatics saw him beat away a powerful Riyaad Norodien 20-yard free-kick.
The half ended 1-0 in favour of the home side.
Ajax continued to push forward in the second half and found the equaliser in the 56th minute when Nxumalo headed home a Cale corner.
Toriq Losper then turned provider when his cross was headed home by Lebusa with 15 minutes to go as the hosts could find no way back.
